Post-holiday pound
After all of the good eating and drinking over the holidays, almost everyone will gain some weight which is called Post-holiday pound. Here are some interesting advices to prevent it:
- Before going to the party, eat snack, a cup of yogurt, salad or sandwich. So when you are in the party, you don’t feel much hungry and eat much.
- In the party, try to choose the low-calorie food such as grill chicken, soup, streamed fish. Or if the party has the buffet, use the small plate, instead of the big plate.
- Talking much, less eating. Talking can slow down your eating and make you more friends.
- Reduce the amount of gravy, cream sauce, cheese, magarine, etc.
- A glass of wine 3.5 oz. has about 80 calories and the popular egg-nog has more 100 calorie. The optional drinking is the mixed soda and white or sparking water.
- Don't stand near the hors d'oeuvres. Go away from it as soon as you get food already so you're not tempted to pick from the platter.
- Don't ban your favorites. Decide which special foods you really want and enjoy them, but skip the rest. So if you love cheesecake, have it, but if you could take or leave gingerbread-man cookies, don't waste your calories on them.
- Oops, I Ate It Again! Whether you're whipping up a batch of cookies or making frosting, it's hard not to sample here and there.
